I have recently joined Progressive Financial Planning Limited and can report on my initial experience with Mark Allison.  I talked to Mark because I was unhappy with my financial advisor.

I think there are some advantages with a smaller advisor.  There can be greater flexibility, more independence and direct investment, “closer to the coal face”.  Some larger operators have layered investment plans where clients may not know what they are investing in.

Mark’s comprehensive Disclosure Statement is a good start.  It is helpful to have all the “cards on the table” particularly in relation to payment of fees.  The Personal Financial Risk Profile is also a useful vehicle to enable Mark to understand individual circumstances and priorities.

As a consequence of the detailed questionnaire the resulting Personal Financial Plan is a personalized document.  It provides a comprehensive picture of the investment portfolio.

At this time some new investments have been made and performance has yet to be assessed.  I can say that Mark has been readily available and responsive.  I have appreciated the thorough approach and the time taken to ensure accuracy.  I look forward to a long and rewarding partnership with Progressive.
